Life can be a funny thing. I went to a wedding yesterday afternoon. Two friends from interstate got married on an old airplane in a unique ceremony which impressed me for several reasons.
Firstly, it was quick. There were no long drawn out sermons from a bible thumping preacher warning against the sins of man with a promise of holy vengeance should either party stray from the righteous course of a happy marriage.
Instead, their ceremony was a simple exchange of real-life vows between two people who belong together and whose love for each other needs no threat of heavenly retribution to remain true.
On the other side of the coin, my sister is going through her second failed marriage. The lastest after 20 years with the man who fathered two of her three children. Her eldest daughter turned 22 this month. He now has a 26 year old girlfriend.
Is it just me who thinks there's something wrong with that?
