Indian Porn Bust

I'm glad I don't live in India...

The head of a popular Indian online auction site, owned by US giant eBay Inc, was arrested for the sale of a video showing a a girl student of an elite school performing oral sex on her boyfriend.

The 2.37 minute clip in this case shows a girl from a prestigious Delhi school giving a blowjob to her classmate boyfriend who filmed the act using the camera on his mobile phone.

The resulting images were then circulated to other students in the school who had mobile phones and finally made its way onto Baazee.com last month.

The manager of Baazee was arrested for allowing the sale of the video and he's been charged under the Indian Information Technology Act which prohibits transmission and sale of obscene data electronically.

If convicted, Bajaj, a US citizen, could be jailed for up to five years or be fined 100,000 rupees (approx $US2300) or both.

What I find to be more than a little contadictory is that public transmission and sale of pornography is a crime in India but possession of porn and viewing it in private is not. Go figure! Indian porn makes my eyes water!

A friend of mine has been to India and tells me that pornographic videos are easily available in most Indian cities and sell for a little more than a dollar.
